Hypothyroidism Symptoms, Goiter, Pcos, Extreme Hirsutism Diagnosed, Symptoms Started After First Delivery. Suggestions?
I have had symptoms of hypothyroidism including a goiter beginning over 30 years ago. Blood tests did not show any problems, I have been told, and I also developed PCOS, diagnosed exclusively due to extreme and sudden hirsuitism at about the same time as the goiter. Are all of these conditions connected? I did not have ANY of these problems until my pregnancy 30 years ago, and all symptoms came after the delivery of my child. Nothing has improved for me since then.....help!
Hi, Thanks for the query. You may be having sub-clinical hypothyroidism, with hormonal levels at the lower end of normal range. Hirsuitism can occur in association with PCOS. As increased testosterone levels are seen in both the conditions. So you once consult gynecologist and start treatment for them. You may need combined contraceptive pills for few months to get normal hormonal levels. By this PCOS can be cured to some extent, maintaining ideal weight for height is needed.
