Hypothyroidism, Weight Gain, Weakness, Feels Like Head Is Falling. Taking Eltroxin. Advise?
I'm hypothroid patient. I have taken Eltroxin for one year. It was 150 gm then the doctor reduced it to 100 gm until that moment I take eltroxin 50. But I feel so bad. I can't raise my arms or even my legs. I feel my head is falling and my weight is increasing even if I don't eat. Now I'm afraid to eat and I couldn't sleep well even if I work al day. Should I stop eltroxin completely. Please advise me. Thanks
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
After Going through your history you are having Hypothyroidism and taking Eltroxin 150 microgram and then dose was reduced, and at present taking 50 microgram/day.
If your weight is increasing you need to visit internal medicine specialist or Endocrinologist and get your thyroid function FT3,FT4 and TSH and treatment with adequate dose of Thyroxine(Eltroxin).
Please do not stop Eltroxin by yourself have patience, get all relevant investigations and accordingly treatment.
Your symptoms may be due to hypothyroidism or overweight and in such condition it is very common to develop depression hence you need proper evaluation.
Please take care
Good Luck.
