Hysterectomy Done. Diarrhea, Fever, Pain And Vaginal Bleeding. Abscess Removed And On Antibiotics. Is This Normal?

Hi, I have had a terrible experience since I have had my hysterectomy 2 weeks ago yesterday. I have had diarrhea from day one, can't eat and when I do it comes straight out, I had to go back to the doctor on the 7th day to find due to fever, pain, and vaginal bleeding. She did a pap-spear exam and found I had fluid/abscess and drained the fluid put me on po antibiotics, 3 days later no better, was admitted to the hospital where I had to be on 3 IV antibiotics and doctor still doesn't know what is wrong. Is this normal?

Hello,

The abscess is due to infection. If the infection is not responding to the antibiotics the it may be a resistant strain due to nosocomial infection acquired during your hospital stay.
You may need pus culture and sensitivity test which will help in determining the resistant strain and the sensitive antibiotic against it.
Correct antibiotic will help control the infection and fast healing.
