I AM A TYPE 2 DIABETIC WITH BEGINNING KIDNEY DISEASE.
I AM A TYPE 2 DIABETIC WITH BEGINNING KIDNEY DISEASE. The VA required me to try Nortryptaline B4 they would allow me to resume pregabalin in replacement for the gabapentin they had insisted on using instead of the pregabalin I had been using for 2.5 years. After being warned by my civilian neurologist that Nortryptalin was not be a safe alternative it was insisted I try it. I never got above the beginning 25mg level. After 4 weeks non of the reactions had decreased but the edema had reached epic levels. My question is this. After being off the Nortryptalin for 2 weeks now the edema has improved but not gone. I still wake with edema in both legs which gets worse by evening. 3/8" dimples by finger pressure. Should I be concerned about worsening of the kidney condition or is there another more mundane answer? Yes I do have an appointment with my primary care in 2.5 weeks.
