I Am 50 Years Old And Three Months Ago I

I am 50 years old and three months ago I woke up with pain right above knee cap and on it. Could not bend for a couple days. Over next week got fully healed. Just woke up with same pain two days ago and have not been able to bend . I have been missing work. I do get gout in my right foot. Can this be problem in right knee. Doctors in our small town are pill pushers and would just give me pain pills and not help with what is causing the problem. Knee only swell a little and does not turn red.
