I Am A Bit Concerned About My 12 Year Old Son Gets Bad Headaches After A Hard Day Of Playing
am a bit concerned about my 12 year old son who gets bad headaches after a hard day of playing :( Hello, my son who is 12, has been getting headaches off and on when he comes in after playing real hard, and it happens more when he s in the heat, and becomes over exerted or heated or both. Sometimes he s even came in crying, because he hurts that bad!!! VERRRRY rarely do they make him throw up. I m thinkn it has to do w/ fact that when he plays that hard, he doesn t want to quit playing because he s hungry or thirsty. But, why is it he gets them almost every single time he runs and plays all day?? I m sure it s nothing to really worry about, but as a parent I AM still a bit concerned!!! I did a bit of reading up on children and headaches, didn t know they were that common!!! But, just scares me because of his complaint of the severity of pain :(!!! I appreciate any input I can get from anyone, thankyou tons!!! :) -Rebecca :)

My son is the same way. Whenever he has a really active day, it is pretty much for sure that he will have a headache. He is sensitive in general, and gets headaches after school sometimes as well. He needs a lot of down time, and if he goes and goes, he will get a headache. I try to make sure he stays hydrated, but I think heat really affects him. Luckily Advil always does the trick, although it takes a good 30-45 minutes to kick in.

awww...thanx for the reply :)...I do appreciate i know it can be a hassle, and would NEVER wish it on anyone else...it is kinda nice to know someone else out in this huge world understands...and to know that it's somewhat 'normal' does help :)..Would love to keep in touch...are you on my space?? I get migraines, alot, and so do two of my nephews. Unfortunately that's what it sounds like to me. When I get too hot or too dehydrated I get really bad headaches. Maybe you could try to get him to take some drinks along with him? I know that at 12 he probably doesn't want that, but I know for me gatorade seems to make a difference. I only really drink it when I'm going to be outside mowing the lawn or something else that is really going to get me heated. Hope he feels better and it's just a phase!

JUST GIVE HIM MORE FLUIDS,WATER,FRUIT JUICES BEFORE HE GOES TO PLAY, AND LET HIM TAKE FLUIDS DURING PLAY TOO,PROBABLY HEADACHE IS DUE TO DEHYDRATION
