I Am Having A Long Period After Taking Of Progestin

I've been on progestin only birth control since January and I've always had irregular long lasting periods, between 8 and 12 days, but usually the amount of bleeding gradually decreases. I started my period 16 days ago and the amount of bleeding has not lessened at all since the day I started. I'm 24 years old and have been menstruating since I was 12 and nothing like this has ever happened before.
