I Am Having Problems With My Heart Rate

I went to my cardiologist today and he found out why I am having problems with my heart rate. He said I have two natural pacemakers, or SA nodes in my heart. I am going to have an ablasion done to get rid of the one that is not supposed to be there and my doc said this was a rare condition. I can t find any info about it on the internet and I was wondering if this is something you are born with or if it just happens. If anyone knows the answer to my question or a site I can find out more about my condition on I would be very thankful!

I don't have an answer for you, but I've never seen that before - it's a rare condition, to say the least. Do you really have two SA nodes, or just two pacemakers (it's much more common to have a small clump of tissue acting as a pacemaker that is not a SA node). To have a duplicate SA node would have to be congenital, I can't think of a way it would grow after birth by itself, but the best person to talk to would be your electrophysiologist (the cardiologist who's going to do the ablataion).
