Hi my name is Nala & I am having terrible Flashbacks of the past, and I don't know how to handle them, but to cry and feel worthless . I went to a counselor about this situation & they don't know how to handle my case . they ask me how I'm doing each time I go there. I feel I am not getting any help from them.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi nala,

Flashback phenomenon can be seen in Post Traumatic stress disorder. If You have a painful past/severe physical or mental stress, this can happen.
It can also occur in substance abuse ( Narcotics, CANNABIS)
Benzodiazepines and SSRI may help you.
Please consult your Psychiatrist

hope this helps and clarifies your concern.

Wishing you good health.

Regards,

Dr.Samrat
