I Am Keeping My 11 Month Granddaughter Tonight. She Found

I am keeping my 11 month granddaughter tonight. She found a candy wrapper and bit into it tearing some of it. I retrieved a very small piece but I don't know if she swallowed any of it. She has eaten and drank her formula tonight but should I be concerned. She has appeared to be normal. How would I know if a piece of paper lodged in her esophagus? Should I take her to the emergency room?
