I Am Male 65 Years Old, I Have Had At

I am male 65 years old, I have had at least 7 surgical procedures on my left Ear as I was born with a mastoid, my most resent operation was in 2009, but in the last 6 months my ear has started to discharge again my local doctor has given me ear drops but they don't seem to work is there anything you can suggest that I could use to help till I can get in to see the operating doctor.
