I am pregnant and my baby was just diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome, where is best place ? where is the best place for treatment? I have looked at several hospitals online, but who is the best. Money is no object, just the best care for my child. Even if outside of the United States.

Without life-prolonging interventions, Hypoplastic left heart syndrome is fatal, but with intervention, an infant may survive. childrens hospital in philedelphia is a great place and i believe there is a childrens heart hospital someplace in arkansas...cincinatti also has an excellent childrens hospital and there is always the cleveland clinic

The best surgeon and post operative care are at the University of Michigan. Dr Bove is world renown for his ability and the surgery survival rates are incredible. My son is now 14 and doing great.

There are several units offering treatment for hypoplastic left heart. If you tell us where you stay, we'd be able to suggest a centre which is nearest. I'd also suggest you plan your delivery keeping in mind that the baby might require transport to the Cardiac Centre soon after birth.
