I Am Taking Pioglit/Metformin. Is There Any Alternative Pill That Does The Same Thing?

I am taking Pioglit/Metformin 15-850 mg TAB my insurance has changed this to a tier 3 and i cannot afford it now. Is there a diffrent pill i can take that does the same thing and i can bring this to my insurance to check out pricing and also get with my Dr.

Hello
Pioglitazone 15 mg + metformine 500 mg is a combination of two anti diabetic drugs ( pioglitazone is comparatively new drug) .
In your case if there is no resistance to glipizide or if you never took other anti diabetic except pioglit+metformin then you can take a cheap and most effective combination , which I usually prescribe my patient .
I prescribe GLIPIZIDE 5 mg+ metformin 500 mg in combo pack and dosage are adjusted according to level of sugar in blood .
This combination is relatively safe , effective and cheap ( less costly than your present salt , 75 & less cost)
But this is a prescription medicine , so please consult a DIABETOLOGIST and get his opinion.
