I Had Diep Flap Breast Reconstruction 18 Months Ago. For

I had Diep Flap breast reconstruction 18 months ago. For the past year I have seen my surgeon for what i think is scar tissue at the site of the new breast. He kept saying to massage it and it will go away. It is getting worse. It is on the inner left breast and goes from the breast to my collar bone and is hard as a bone. The pain is sometimes unbearable. I saw my surgeon yesterday and asked him to remove it. He stated that removing the scar tissue would most likely cause me to lose the new breast because of the blood vessels involved. Does this sound right?
