I Had Blood Drawn Today And The Injection Site Is

I had blood drawn today and the injection site is moderately to severely itching and I have a bruise like pain in my bicep several inches away from the site. I have had many many blood tests over my 35 years and this has never happened. There is a small, barely perceptable bruise at the injection, which is normal for me. Is the itching and pain a normal redponse or something I should be concerned about?
