I Had Lung Cancer Surgery Last April, And The Diaphragm

I had lung cancer surgery last April, and the diaphragm on that side is still paralyzed due to nerve damage (acc to pulmonary doctor and SNIF test x-ray). She said to wait for the nerves to heal themselves and test again in 6 months, but I have lymph node/nerve damage underarm from breast cancer surgery 7 years ago that is still healing and I don't want to wait that long for this to heal. Other than wait, or surgery, what can I do to speed this healing?
