Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
1. Granular pharyngitis occurs due to chronic inflammation of lymphoid tissue on the posterior pharyngeal wall due to infection, allergy, pollution, reflux, post nasal drip, mouth breathing due to nasal obstruction, smoking and other irritants.

2. Use a medicated mouthwash regularly. Any chronic tonsillitis must be treated with a short course of antibiotics anti-allergics and steroids. Try Betadine gargles, diluted with water and use 30 ml for 30 seconds two to three times a day.

3. Tonsilloliths usually do not need treatment, however, if you consider them troublesome you may undergo laser assisted sealing of the offending crypts or tonsillectomy for a permanent solution.
