I Have A Very Dry Mouth With Metallic Taste, Help Please
I recently had the respitory flu and bronchitas, i now have a very dry mouth with metallic taste, worse after i eat. Nothing helps. I have had this before on and off, now is constant. I also cannot smell anything or taste my food. I have been eating cardboard it tastes like for a month. No sense of smell or taste and i drink tons of water. My taste buds are all screwed up, salty tastes sweet, etc. Is this related? what can i do about this. This is really depressing me as its constantly a dessert in my mouth and its driving me crazy. My sinuses feel like they are draining. help
This is indeed common following upper respiratory tract infection, you need to rehydrate yourself. Drink plenty of warm water and use saline nasal drops 3-4 times/day, to keep your nasal mucosa moist and hydrated. Also, take vitamins containing zinc. If the symptoms does not improve in a couple of days please consult your ENT specialist for a thorough nasal evaluation.
