Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 22 years old, female. No major health issues other than a cold or something every so often. I have been sick with a cold or a sinus infection or both for about a week and I am just now getting over it, and today all of the sudden a small lump has appeared in my neck on the right side, 2 inches below the bottom of my ear and one inch back toward the back of my neck, under the skin. it isn t visible. it feels like it s on a blood vessel or something, kindof rolls when i poke at it and feels like a bruise would when i touch it. I ve had this happen a few times before and it always disappears in a day or two but it always just really freaks me out. do you think it could be a lymph-node ?
You seem to be having sinus infection, the lump in the neck is a reaction to the infection in the nose. You require antibiotics for treating sinusitis and the lump in the neck. Also, do steam inhalation 2-3 times/day, use saline nasal drops 3 drops 3-4 times/day. Consult your ENT specialist for a thorough evaluation and further management.
I believe the lump you are pointing at is nothing more than a swollen lymph node which will recede when the infection is cured. For sinus have steam inhalation with cap. karvol in it. Amongst medicines have Tab. A flu cil forte 1 bd with hot water for three days.
