Hi,
Your apprehension about radioiodine is unnecessary.
Radioiodine is the first line of treatment of hyperthyroidism in the United states.
In india, radioiodine is being used extensively for more than 40 years.

The amount of radioiodine used for hyperthyroidism (5 mCi to 15 mCi) is very small and will not cause cancer.

I personally, have treated several hundred patients with radioiodine without any side effects. Infact, the side effects of PTU, is far riskier than radioiodine itself

if you guys had anyschooling with cancer cells you would all know that:
1.) everyone has cancerous cells in their body
and
2.) any form of radiation has a chance to turn a cancer cell rouge

i cannot sit here and watch you spue your lies....
some of you ask "why in the hell would a doc give you radiation if it gives you cancer?"
the answer is: uh duh... we live in the biggest money making country in the world. if you got cancer they have your money for the rest of your life... use your brains guys!
