For years now, I have had these dark spots along my spine. it started out being less than two inches long, but its more than four inches long now. It doesn t really hurt, but I do have a terrible back in general, so I don t know that I would really notice it worsen our get better aside from the appearance of it. It looks a bit like bruising.
It may be nonspecific hyperpigmentation caused by rubbing. It may be macular amyloidosis. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis. If there is itching, get treatment. Antihistaminics like cetirizine 10 mg may be taken. Mild steroid cream may be applied. If no complaints... keep it as it is without treatment.
