I Have Had Brownish Discharge/iron Smell, What Else Could Be Causing This?

I have had brownish grainy looking dicharge for two weeks now with no period?? But spotting every now and then. The discharge smells like Iron (blood) I took a pregnancy test it came up negative?! What else could be causing this?

No baby....No pregnancy i have no idea what is causing this
