i have hydrocephalus i have a vp shunt in my head for it i I have a vp shunt and I have numbness on the right side on my temple is that a sign of my shunt malfunctioning?

Dr Aseem has answered your question very well. Shunt has part which is compressible, and it lies behind ears. Try pressing it 10 times at one times. And then observe whether it solves the problem or not. If it solves your problem then it confirms the malfunctioning of Shunt.
As and when needed consult Neurosurgeon.

Read your prob, that shunt helps in redusing pressure in brain , so that prevent from neurological dificiency. some time it press some part of brain so that you feel that numbness, this is avoidable, do not think about it, this is not malfunctioning, if shunt cant work you feel other neurological symptoms due to high brain or CSF pressure. so do not worry about it.
