I Have Parotid Mass. Suggest Me The Treatment
Mri;showed showed Several small masses 7mm.When; ENT looked at MRI CD;he wasnt too worried,also said a small cyst,we would keep eye,on.Told,me it s also my TMJ,making gland swell.I,already,knew that.Iam very worried about these,Masses.Any opinions?Going back,to see DR;soon. Pat

You have multiple fluid filled sacs in parotid gland, These are due to obstruction to the duct. dont worry at present. Drink plenty of water do the hot fomentation over gland and massage it. if there is pain or sudden increase in size consult ENT surgeon

Thankyou for responding.There is area of higher intensity,consistant with small Intraparotid Lymp node.Also;Left gland has two with intraparotid lymp nodes. So;is this still,okay? Iam,seeing Dr.again,but this wondering driving me nuts. Thanks for all your help. Pat Nickel

In case of any doubts it is better to have an Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) done. This is will give a probable diagnosis. If it is just an inflammatory lesion we can wait and watch, or if it turns out to be something else, it can be managed accordingly. MRI is done to find out the extension of the swelling and associated damage. FNAC would have been appropriate in this situation rather than MRI. Any more doubts you are welcome.
