I have severe COPD. My 1st serious flare up last July. I am 80 yrs.old and retired RN
Dec 12th contracted flu like virus went straight to lungs.
After 4 Zpak antibiotic still productive nasty mucus and coughing from lungs.
Routine prednisone 10 mg q/day increased 2 days ago to 40 mg. for short burst 5 days to treat SOB and wheezing. Also use routinely Atrovent 12.9g - 2puff aid+ Albuterol solution 2.5mg - qid
Questions:
How quickly can I wean from 5 days prednisone?
Is there another antibiotic more effective than Azithromycin that I've used for years?
