I have terrible, now unbearable pain and tingling in all of my toes, basically the ball of each foot forward. This came on sudenly about a year ago. There was no trauma, basically when it started, I just thought my toes were "falling asleep" and really thought nothing of it until it continued to worsen. It is non-stop, 24 hours a day no matter if I am sitting, standing or lying down. It is definitely worse when I stand or walk for an extended period, but it never stops!
I have done decompression therapy, and stretches. I have asked my family doc about it, he brushed it off as a neuropathy, but could not say what might have caused it, how to treat it, of if anything could ever be done to fix it.
I have gone to a neuro-surgon, she believes surgery is necessary to correct the herniation's, but indicated based upon an EMG, it may not do anything to help the pain in the toes!
I do not have diabetes, I have been tested. I have had approximately 10 rounds of injections in my lower back to help manage the pain, but that has done nothing to alleviate the pain in my toes.
I have no idea who to turn too? I feel like I cant possibly be the only person with this condition and that doctors have never heard of such of thing or have no idea how to treat!
Any suggestions?
Thank you, Steve
