Should I Continue Using Preparation H For Severe Anal Swelling?

I have what seems to have started as a hemorrhoid but has now progressed to my entire anus swelling up; to where I have no space between it and the opening of my vagina. I started using prep h today but wondering if I should continue trying to use this or be seen by my doctor. Thank you
