I Just Got Three Stitches On My Elbow. The Injury

I just got three stitches on my elbow. The injury was caused when I fell on some ice. I waited 24 hours, took off the dressing, took a shower, let it air dry after patting the skin around it dry, and put antibiotic ointment and a silver-coated bandage on it. It's now been 30 hours since the stitches went in, and my hand is starting to swell up and feels warmer than the other hand. The stitches don't hurt unless I touch the bandage. Is some swelling normal?

This is the first time I've gotten stitches near a joint so I'm not sure what I should expect. I feel like crap in general since I also have a cold! I took benadryl and a decongestant today.
