I Just Took My Boyfriends Blood Pressure. He Is African

I just took my boyfriends blood pressure. He is African American and 64 years old. He does drink alcohol. Mostly beer and maybe a few cocktails here and there. His blood pressure was 170/116 as we speak. He says he feels fine, however he's sweating as we speak and states that he does experience blurred vision a lot more here lately. And does take 2 different types of blood pressure medications. Yet his blood pressure is what it is now. What can he do to lower it until he can get into see his doctor? Valsartan 160 mg once a day. Amlodipine 10 mg once daily
