I Started Birth Control About A Month Ago And Have

I started birth control about a month ago and have started to take my sugar pills (second one today) but I have still not gotten my period. Me and my boyfriend have had unprotected sex a couple of times within the past 2 weeks, but he has not finished inside me. Today we had sex unprotected and he finished a little bit inside me, am I still protected from getting pregnant while on sugar pills?
