I Suffered A Right Thalamic Infarction Which Caused Numb Fingers

I suffered a right thalamic infarction which caused numb fingers on the left hand, numbness on the left side of my face, and a weakened left leg. Additional, I noticed that my sense of taste has greatly improved, especially salty and sweet. I read where that if taste was affected, it would be a lessening and not an enhancement of taste. Is this unusual and will it continue?
