I Was Bitten, Or Possibly Clawed By My Indoor Cat

I was bitten, or possibly clawed by my indoor cat after accidently stepping on her tail. I started to bleed and kept a bandaid on it. My doctor examined it and gave me a prescription for cephalexine. I took the first capsule at about 6 at night, went to sleep at about 10 and suddenly awakened to itchy skin only on my arms. Of course, I will not stop this medication. I am not itchy now. I would appreciate your recommendations. Too, how often shall I change the bandage the doctor placed on the wound? I have only researched cat scratch fever in college, but how serious is this wound? I shudder to remove the bandage!
