If I Take Fasting Test After 6 Hours And Alcohol Causes Increases In Levels?
Hi Doctor, My FBS is 166 which I know is high and Post Fasting BS is 135. I wanted to know two things:- 1.) I took the Fasting test after 6 hours. Is this normal or should I repeat the test 2.) I drink whisky almost alternate days. Though I did not drink the day before the test. Will drinking alcohol (90ml) on alternate cause an effect on FBS Thanks
Drinking small amount of alcohol infact causes low sugars but when it is taken more than the allowed quantity, then this reflex low sugars will cause hypoglycemia by increasing the sugar levels.
yes indeed fasting sugars will be raised by taking alcohol.
Secondly repeat the test and get the hba1c analysis done.
Thanks
