I`m a 71 year old male 5`10 and eighty kg. Mid Feb I had a TIA, just garbled some words for a minute. I was unable to see a Dr. for 6 days and when I did I was put on Crestor 40 mgs, Plavix 75mgs + 100mg aspirin, cardiamax and cardiozyme. The Crestor gave me an immediate loss of memory and unable to finish a sentence because I would lose the point. Also confusion and headache. I discontinued the Crestor and memory came back. That left me with a continual headache and and after a month I came off the Plavix. Within 24 hours the headache was gone. I have compensated by taking 1000 mgs Vitamin E`. So the daily intake is now cardiozine, cardiomax, 1000 mg vitam E` and 100 mg Aspirin. Should I go to 300 mgs Aspirin?
The blood tests I had were very good, everything in mid range accept cholesterol, I have walked six to ten kilometers a day for the past fifteen years, I don`t smoke and my lungs are like a young mans, I was a moderate wine drinker and have never had any severe illnesses.
I`ve read the side effects of the drugs prescribed and just don`t want them any more. I`m still doing the walk each day and my BP is around 110/114 over 70/ 75. I was given Amlodapine for hyper tension, As you can see my BP is fine. My diet now is green leaves and Salmon. I would appreciate any comment and what are my chances of having another stroke?
Many thanks, Larry.
