In-clinic Abortion Done. Is It True That Tubal Pregnancy Will No End With This Type If Procedure And Would The Doctors Knew If It Was Tubal Pregnancy?

I had an abortion a week ago at about 9 weeks along. I had the in-clinic aspiration abortion. After i was done they told me i wasnt pregnant anymore, and 3 days after my procedure i started my period, real heavy with clots but not in the dangerous amounts. But i was reading the risks with in-clinic abortion and it said "pregnancy doesnt end" because of a tubal pregnancy. So now im all curious to this buldge between my right hip and belly button. If i had 2 ultrasounds and a pelvic exam before my abortion would they have noticed if it was a tubal pregnancy? The baby showed up on the ultrasound picture.

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Ultrasound of abdomen is quite sensitive enough to confirm the presence of intrauterine pregnancy and excluding out tubal pregnancy. In initial 6 to 10 weeks it can.sometimes be difficult to confirm intra uterine pregnancy by abdominal ultrasound, itmay call for need of transvaginal ultrasound for confirmation. Post abortion bleeding following suction abortion may also be due to residual conceptus left behind in the uterus in case of intrauterine pregnancy.

If the bleeding persists,it may be necessary to repeat ultrasound abdomen/transvaginal ultrasound to exclude possibility of retained conceptus remaining.

Take care

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

By ultrasonography we can detect gestational sac by 6 weeks of missed periods. through transvaginal scan even 1 week earlier.
Yes ectopic pregnancy can be diagnosed through ultrasound.

Hope this helps you
