Increased Pimples On Using Epiduo Gel And Kojic Acid. Alternative Medication And Measures To Reduce Pimples?

Hello doctor,
I am about to get married in 10-15 days. My doctor prescribed me aziyhromycin course as my pimples were not going. He gave me epiduo gel and kojic acid along with epithelial cream. However my pimples have doubled now and they are painful big bumps and that too very big. I am very worried. I don't have time and my skin has worsened. Should I take macrotor 500 as it is tues or should I change my medicine. Please tell. I having sleepless nights. As my face is full of acne marks and pimples.

Hi,

Thanks for writing here.

Acne flare up is quite common after some acne medications.

Epiduo contains benzoyl peroxide and adapalene.

It is responsible for intial flare up.

You can continue with azithromycin.

Stop epiduo and switch over to clindac a gel.

At times a short course of systemic steroid will help to reduce lesions.

It will be better to consult your doctor.
