Increased Urination At Night, Fasting Blood Sugar 7.3. History Of Unsuccessful Cateract Removal Surgery. Any Advice?
Hello
I am 70 years of age, 77.5 kgms weight, 181cm height and on a repeat fasting blood sugar resulted in reading of 7.3. I recently had a corneal transplant following unsuccesful cateract removal from left eye. Only other symptom I have noticed is increased urination at night.
I exercise regularly and when given the all clear from my eye specialist will resume lap swimming 1km - 1.5km five days a week. In the mean time I am walking regularly. I read the sugar content of everything I buy. Love yogurt so perhaps I should look for even lower sugar content. Also are in the habit of stewing fruit (apples, peaches, plumbs etc which I place on top of my morning museli. Oh, and crave for my morning coffee (with milk) fix. No more than two cups a day. Drink plenty of water.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Only symptom is frequent urination in the night . 1 Benign prostate hyperplasia ( B P H ) , diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of prostate and PSA examination. 2 Diabetes may be the reason , diagnosis can be confirmed by H B A 1 C examination. 3 Urinary tract infection, diagnosis can be confirmed by urine culture examination. In my opinion consult a surgeon and get his opinion regarding B P H as physical examination is also important. Good luck. Dr. HET
