Infant Has Bumps And Bruises Over The Site Of Blood Drawn. Cause?

I had a question regarding my daughter who is seven months old. She had to take a blood test a few days ago, they had to do it twice because she was wailing around and the nurse missed her vain both times. Now I m noticingthese tiny bumps all ogre her arm . Would that have caused the bumps or bruises. Or could this even be broken blood vessels from when they held her arm down?

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,
I am sorry to know she has developed bruises, after giving blood for some tests.

Some time it is difficult to draw blood from infants.
It is due to some blood leaks in subcutaneous tissues, and swelling due to local reaction.

You should not worry it will go away in few days but still you can apply some cold compress as tolerated and even Heparin ointments are available to hasten the recovery.

Please take very good care of her.

Good Luck.
