My son is 6.5 months old. For 3 days now, he s having loose bowel moovement and so we had his stool examined. The following are the results. Hope you can help me interpret this. Thanks! COLOR : greenish, e. histolytica cyst CONSISTENCY : mucoidal, e. histolytica troph, ascaris lumbricoides , trichuris, trichiura PUS CELLS: 0-1HPF, hookworm RBC: 0-1HPF, enterobius vermicularis VEGETABLE CELLS: occult blood BACTERIA : many FAT GLOBULES : no ova or parasite seen Thanks so much for the help!
Your son is having mixed infection(Bacterial as pus cells and RBCs are present /Amoebic as trophozoites of E.Hystolytica ) and infestation(Ascaris/trichuris(whipworm)/hook worm/enterobius (pin worm).
Kindly consult a Paediatrician who will prescribe an anti biotic/anti protozoal and anti heminthic ,all broad spectrum to treat the infection and infestation.
The child may also need adequate hydration and nutritiously balanced(Most of these kids are Anaemic and undernourished) hygeinically prepared food in future to prevent the recurrences.
