dear patient
ur husbend suffring from omphalities possibility of infected remnants of the allantois or the omphalomesenteric (vitelline) duct in adult patients with recurrent omphalitis. Imaging tests such as ultrasound and computed tomography scan frequently help to identify the exact cause of recurrent omphalitis. The combined surgical and medical management usually leads to cure of the problem.
u should continue antibiotics cefixime 200mg twice a day for 5 days. also add metronidazole 800mg thrice a day. also add omeprazole 20 mg morning before lunch

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
Belly button infection is a fairly common problem in people  and  this being dark, warm and moist area, the belly button provides a favorable environment for the growth of microorganism like bacteria and fungi.

The growth of these yeast or bacteria hence causes belly button infection with symptoms like redness, itching, tenderness, pain, the presence of a foul smell and pus in belly button.

Get Culture of pus done and give antibiotic accordingly.
Keep the area clean with saline water.
May do a local hot compress.
You shall be alright soon.
There is nothing to worry and forget what nurse said.
Thanks
