Hi Doctor, I have some inflammation started in my left eye 2 years back. Doctors told me there is leakage of blood and floaters are seen. I feel intensity of inflammation is increased in last 2 years. I noticed that left eye has blurred vision in some directions. What do we call this disease? Is there any treatment for this? Regards

Hello,
Inflammation in the eye is a fairly common disease called as uveitis, the inflammation of the middle vascular layer of the eyeball. Since your other complaints are floaters, blurred vision all these point towards inflammation of the middle part or posterior part of the uvea called as intermediate or posterior uveitis.
Uveitis or inflammation can occur following a variety of diseases like allergy, injury, drugs, systemic diseases, autoimmune diseaes and so many, which requires detailed evaluation by investigations.
The treatment is mainly by steroids for inflammation of the eye. For leakage of blood and floaters, if the leakage of blood is mild to moderate observation can be done for spontaneous absorbtion of blood, but if it is severe some surgical intervention may be required after waiting for maximum of 3-6 months.
I advice you to consult your eye doctor or preferably retina surgeon for further investigations and treatment.
Thank you
