Irregular Periods. Can I Take The Pill Even Though I Am Not On Periods And How Long It Takes To Start Working?
Okay, so i just got birth control pills yesterday for my first time. Me and my partner are not having sex. But my period is a bit irregular, and i cant predict when it will come so i could start taking the first pill. Could i just start taking the pill now, even though im not on my period? And how long do i wait for it to start working?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Newer hormonal pills are effective in making periods regular too( for hormonal deficient cases) You can start taking pills. Go through the instructions given in leaflet. Contraceptive effect starts 7 days after regular use of pills, if started in the middle of cycle. Should be taken daily at a regular time. Till then barrier method of contraception is a better option.
Hope this helps you.
