Irregular Periods, Anemic. Ultrasound Scheduled. Biopsy Done For Abnormal Pap Smear. Cervical Cancer. Concerned?

I have had my period now for 2 months with about 7 days (non consecutive) of not having it. I am 23 years old, I have two kids whom I vaginally delivered without any complications. I went to the walk in today and they told me I am anemic and I started Iron pills today as well. I am scheduled for an ultrasound for tomorrow. I am very worried because my mom and her sister both started having these problems when they were my age and they both have had hysterectomy's. I also had a biopsy of my cervix done about 2 years ago because of an abnormal pap smear, they did find that I have pre cervical cancer, also I had an ultrasound done this last year and I have cysts on both of my ovaries. I am just wondering what I should be concerned about and what the doctors will be looking for.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
As you mentioned that there was bleeding from last 2 months ( 7 days gap ) .
Doctor told that you are anemic, right this type of bleeding usually develops anemia , so your are taking folic acid tablets , its a good treatment.
Last years you got pap smear , which was not clear .
Don't be in panic .
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding may be ,
1 Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease ( pcod ) , as already you are a known case of pcod , so consult a gynecologist and get its treatment .
2 may be any fibroid or endometriosis in uterus , diagnosis can be concerned by ultrasound as well physical examination by a gynecologist.
3 Cervical carcinoma as you were at high risk so please get in pap smear test once again .
If you have any doubt after this test ( 2nd test) get in COLPOSCOPY to rule out any cancer. Good luck. Dr. HET
