Hi
Welcome to HCM
Regestrone is given so that you can get withdrawal bleeding.
Your consulting doctor is thinking of Poly cystic ovarian disease.
It is one of the commonest hormonal disorder which is responsible for irregular periods.
Even a weight loss of 5% of total body weight has been shown to help with the imbalance of hormones and also with infertility. Medical treatment includes OC pills, some oral hypoglycemic drug here i am not mentioning the name as it should never be taken without examination.
I advice you to loos weight, as it will help you in balancing the hormone responsible for your irregular periods.
Hope i have provided you the information you needed.
As you are obese and have irregular periods, you need to be tested for hormone imbalance and PCOD ( Poly cystic Ovarian Disease) as your doctor advised. Ultrasonograhy helps in diagnosing any anatomical defect and PCOD.
As you taken Regesterone for 3 days, you have to wait for 3 days after the medicine is stopped for periods to come ( periods or withdrawl bleeding will start after the same number days after stopping medicine as the number of days you took the medicine. For example, if you take regesterone for 4 days, your periods would start 4 days after stopping the medicine) . Just wait for 2 more days for your periods .
In case if your periods didnt after 2 days, you need to be investigated for thyroid hormone and PCOD as advised by your doctor.
Hope you understood what i have explained.
Wish you a healthy Life.
Take Care
