Irregular White Patches On Tongue, Swelling, Slight Pain. Recommendations?
Hi, my left side of tounge has irregular white patches looks like underlying tissue and slight redness patch or sweeling at its end. I showed physicain and was prescribed with vitamins. It is now more than two month since problem diagnosed, the overall redness of tounge is reduced, however white patch and slight pain particlualy after taking spicy food still presist. I even tried oral paste. I am worried for longer duration of illness.
Hello, Thanks for posting your query. White patches can be aphthous ulcers which is recurrent in nature. Biopsy of the lesion is mandatory to give a final diagnosis. I would advice you to maintain oral hygiene well. Take plenty of fluids and nutritious food. Vitamin becosules,c,iron and folic acid tablets has to be administered. Avoid stressful jobs. Intake of spicy, salty food items has to be limited. Take care.
