Is 0.01 L Of Troponin I With Breathlessness, Weakness, And Chest Pain Worrisome?

At my recent annual checkup, my level of troponin I was 0.01 L. I was diagnosed with the flu a week earlier, and the flu was still lingering during my checkup. I told the dr about my symptons of air hunger, weakness, jittery feeling, low energy, and that I had experienced a very sharp, stabbing pain straight through my left breast and radiated down my back and left side. He did an ECG and said it was normal. Since cardio vascular disease runs in my family, I think I should see a cardiologist for further evaluation. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

Your pain does not look very typical of heart disease. Besides this your ECG and cardiac enzymes are quite normal, so I don't think it's your heart. you probably don't need to see a cardiologist opinion at the moment. Yes, you should focus on a healthy lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
