Is 118 Level Normal In Sugar Test?

I am 35 yrs old just had a complete physical they found suger in my urine blood was 118 there isn t any diabeties in the family i have been off of work b/c of an injury so i have been drinking more beer and pepsi and sweet tea than i normaly do. I am 5 10 155lbs could that be a cause of the sugar in my urine.

To be termed as diabetic your Fasting sugar has to be more than 126 and post prandial sugar more than 200. I believe what you have mentioned here as 118 is a random sugar. If you want to be very certain about your diagnosis you may go in for a Glucose tolerance test (3intervals) Using this test we will be able to tell you the exact situation of your sugar status plus we can also predict the possibility of developing diabetes in the near future so that corrective steps can be taken. Secondly urine sugar is kinda unreliable so don not get tensed about the urine sugar. Please do Glucose tolerance test and get back for any queries.
