Is 12:1 Trig:VLDL Ratio Risky?

Hi, I am M48/Indian. My blood test showed as follows. HDL-43, LDL-143, VLDL-31, Trig-370, Fasting sugar-87. BP is generally 125-130/80-85. Questions are: a. I was under the impression that Trig:VLDL ratio was 5:1. Is it possible to have a 12:1 ratio? Are my high Trig readings a risk factor. b. I have been advised to take Rosuvastatin. Is statin therapy beyond question? I read a lot of controversies on this subject. For example, it is stated that more than LDL, it is the oxidised LDL that is a risk factor in plaque development

yes your triglycerides and LDL are high. They are certainly a risk factors for plaque formation and heart diseases. I agree with doctor putting you on rosuvastatin, which will control both the components.
Besides healthy lifestyle, low fat, oily diet, regular exercises will help reducing these.
