Is 12.5mg Of Thyronorm Sufficient To Keep TSH Level Stable?
Hi ! I m 24 now, i have been tryin to concieve since 10 months but in vain. I thought of weaning my child completely. Two months after i was done with nursing my doctor suggested me to get my thyroid levels checked. It was above optimal range (i.e, 11.86) Dr. Prescribed 12.5 mg of thyronorm till i concieve. Can i take shatavari herbs (capsule form) along with thyronorm ? Is it safe to use allopathy with herbs ? And how long will it take thyroid levels to get back from 11.86 to optimal range after using 12.5 mg of thyronorm ? Thanks in advance.
Thyronorm dose varies from 50 mcg a day to 200 mcg a day with an average dose of 125 mcg. The dose varies from patient to patient and the way to determine the dose you need is by checking the TSH.
If you have been using Thyronorm in a dose of at least 75 mcg a day, you may measure the TSH in 6 weeks and if the TSH is over 5 you will need to increase the dose of Thyronorm and then measure the TSH again in 6 weeks.
I would not recommend using herbs as these are not well studied and may be unsafe if you get pregnant.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
