Is 15mg Of Methimazole Advisable While Having Low TSH Level?
my latest thyroid blood test came back TSH 0.007 suppressed thyroid. I have had multiple nodules for years. I take methimazol 5mg. and up until a month ago. I took 1and 1/2 tabs. daily. He then increased to 10 mg. (2 tabs... then I had the blood test that came up suppressed thyroid. He has now increased it to 15mg. Does that make sense .. keep lowering it??
We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, yes it makes sense as TSH levels are reciprocal to Thyroid functions and for persistently low TSH levels, methimazole needs to be increased gradually with the current symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
